ShipBase Marine Digital Dashboard

Electrical Panel for Vessels (Digital Switching)

A touch-sensitive, connected, and interactive device

ShipBase is the visible component of our digital switching solution ShipHeart™. Featuring a 10-inch touchscreen on a carbon fiber faceplate with a raw yet refined design, this marine digital dashboard installs in place of the old electrical panel.

In addition to its many internal functions, it offers the possibility to receive external sensors, to control dedicated expansion modules, or to interface with peripheral equipment.

A Comprehensive Boat Overview

The integrated functions of the ShipBase digital dashboard relate to the general ship environment:

  • ambient temperature,
  • atmospheric pressure,
  • humidity,
  • shocks,
  • geographical position,
  • satellite time.

For optimal control, all common sensors of a recreational boat can also be connected:

  • tank level sensors regardless of their type (0-190Ω, 240-33Ω, submerged contacts, 0-700Ω, 4-20mA, 0-10V),
  • temperature sensors (engine compartment, pump, charger, inverter…),
  • bilge water presence sensors,
  • lighting control push buttons,
  • intrusion sensors,
  • etc.

The boater thus accesses essential boat data from their touchscreen.

An intuitive interface adapted to each vessel

Because every boat is different, the ShipHeart™ display can be adapted:

  • By choosing the language or units.
  • By defining the exact name of each circuit, battery, sensor, or tank.
  • By loading, via a USB key, the boat’s plans or photos to insert graphical buttons representing equipment or sensors.
Result: in a few minutes, it is possible to create a page representing the vessel and to see the level of a tank, a battery, or the status of navigation lights appear, which can be switched on or off with a touch of a finger.

Key feature: the ability to create an unlimited number of graphical synoptic pages.

Unique Detection Functions

In addition to these basic functions, unique features are added, such as insulation fault detection for aluminum, steel, or carbon fiber vessels. With ShipBase, detection is initiated one second after any DC circuit command (or periodically if no command is executed).
Streamlined implementation: simply connect a single wire from the hull to a ShipBase input and perform 2 configuration clicks.

A Connected Digital Switching Solution

ShipHeart™ communicates with other onboard equipment and with the crew, whether onboard or remotely, thanks to its multiple interfaces:

  • Wi-Fi and Ethernet: connection to the onboard router for remote access via the Ship2net™ module,
  • USB and CAN: interfacing with commercial chargers or inverters,
  • NMEA2000: integration of network data like any sensor (display, historical curves, alarm or event triggering),
  • DMX: simple and economical control of LED lighting systems.

Onboard Electrical Circuits and Marine Batteries

The ShipBase marine dashboard controls, protects, and monitors all onboard electrical circuits – whether AC or DC, 12V or 24V, unipolar or bipolar – as well as the associated marine battery banks.
To do this, it relies on three types of dedicated expansion modules:

Note: only three types of modules allow it to adapt to all boats, from a 9-meter sailboat to a 24-meter motor yacht, including long-distance cruising multihulls.

Only the number of modules allows the solution to be adapted to each vessel, both during initial installation and as the boat’s equipment level or crew needs evolve.

Dashboard and Module Installation

Easy-to-Install Pluggable Connectors

Connectors are supplied with each module. All are pluggable, keyed, lockable, and connect tool-free to spring contacts.

Onboard Dashboard

Interchangeable Modules, Automatic Updates

All modules are interchangeable; those supplied with the ShipHeart™ dashboard are simply daisy-chained to each other, regardless of their order. Only their position on the bus allows them to be identified.

Update: when a module is outdated, ShipBase detects it upon connection, and the update starts automatically, without any crew intervention.

As for termination resistors, they are managed fully automatically with each module addition or removal. No loss, no oversight, no duplicates.

The Simplest Configuration on the Market

Configuring a digital switching solution on a boat has never been easier. With ShipHeart™, no PC, specific software, or adapter cable is required. No external intervention is needed; everything can be configured from the touchscreen.

Our dashboard is configured via its advanced settings menu.

In a few minutes, the vessel’s circuits, tanks, or batteries appear on the home screen, with the desired label and in the preferred order.

Other intuitive settings to be made in minutes:

  • adjustment of circuit trip thresholds,
  • sensor alarm levels,
  • tank alert thresholds.

Onboard Automation: Simplified Creation of Automations

Depending on individual needs, it is possible to create onboard automations in a few clicks:

  • to switch a lighting circuit on or off when a push button is pressed,
  • to control a ventilation circuit when the temperature exceeds a certain threshold,
  • to power a pump when the water presence sensor is active,
  • to activate a shore charger when the battery charge level is below a given value…
