In the “Equipment” section – “New Products”, Voile Magazine’s December 2020 special issue features the ShipHeart electrical panel and some of its many use cases.
The article presents our ShipHeart digital switching solution, explaining that it can display all real-time consumption data and store it for subsequent offline analysis. A central unit far more powerful than a simple electrical panel.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Sébastien MAINGUET, journalist and head of the equipment section for “Voiles & Voiliers” magazine, to our stand at METSTRADE Amsterdam. This was an opportunity to present ShipHeart™ to him in all its aspects and answer all his questions.

During the Morbihan Challenge, Damien Bidaine, a journalist for Voile Magazine, and his crew aboard the magazine’s Super Arlequin apprehensively observe that the service battery is severely discharged. Unable to understand the reasons for such rapid discharge, Damien contacts us.
Thanks to Ship2net, we remotely access the data recorded by ShipHeart™, and the diagnosis is quick: the “Engine Control” consumes approximately 6A. This is a significant amount for a throttle control, even if fully electric. The real reason? The electric engine’s cooling pump is directly connected to this control, and it constantly consumes 5.6A as soon as the ignition is on. With the reason found, Damien is reassured and for the future adventures of the Super Arlequin, he is considering both pump power and a more “intelligent”, more intermittent operation, by associating a temperature sensor with ShipHeart and conditional triggers based on it.

ShipHeart™ in the refit adventure of Voile Magazine’s Super Arlequin!
Thanks to the initiative of Voile Magazine, the Passe Coque association, and AFPA, a 1974 Super Arlequin, previously abandoned, is getting a second life. Koriolan is proud to participate in this refit adventure with ShipHeart™ installed onboard.
